The whole point of a downward fitting is where the light lands. The LED is recessed inside the housing and aimed at the ground, so you get a clean blade of light down the brickwork and a bright pool at the threshold, with nothing shining back at head height. That matters on a front door, at a garage or along a patio wall where an ordinary lantern simply dazzles. The body is aluminum with a black baked finish and it is sealed to IP65, so rain and harsh winters leave it alone. Two sizes let you match the fitting to the wall: 35 cm for a standard front door or a garage side wall, 42 cm where the wall is broad and a small fitting would look lost.
