A low, rounded shade of opal glass, 28cm across and only 10cm deep, hung on a slim cord under a chrome fitting. The shape is the sixties take on Bauhaus: one soft form, one Color, no decoration. Lit, the whole shade glows evenly and the light falls gently onto the table.

The opal glass diffuses the bulb completely, so from any seat you see a glowing shape rather than a bulb. At 28cm it is wide enough to carry a small dining table on its own and shallow enough to hang two or three in a line over an island without blocking the view. The cord is 200cm and is shortened at installation. It takes one E27 bulb, line power wired, and comes in orange or cream.

What are the exact dimensions?
The Bauhaus Opal Glass Pendant Light is 11.0″ wide (28 cm), 3.9″ high (10 cm), with a 79″ (200 cm) cord.

How many do I need over a kitchen island?
Pendants are centered in equal sections of the island, about 30″ apart for shades up to 14″ (36″ up to 20″, 42″ above), never closer than 24″, with the outer shades 6″ or more in from each end. Distances are between pendant centers.

How high should I hang it?
Common practice is to hang the bottom of the shade 30–36″ (76–91 cm) above a kitchen island, towards the upper end under ceilings above 9 ft, or about 30–34″ above a dining table, and to keep at least 7 ft (84″) from the floor in walkways. The cord is 79″ (200 cm) long.
