Description

A dome of hand-twisted paper rope woven in an open lattice over a wire frame. Lit, the weave throws a pattern of small shadows across the ceiling and walls; unlit, it is a piece of texture hanging in the room.

Handwoven Texture Above a Table

This is the pendant for a room that has too many smooth surfaces. The rope is woven by hand in a triangular lattice, so no two shades are identical, and the light escapes through the gaps in a soft, dappled pattern rather than a single beam. Natural is the pale straw Color of the rope itself, at home with oak, linen and white walls. Coffee is a deep brown that suits darker timber and terracotta. White is bleached, quieter, and works in a bathroom or a pale bedroom. At 25cm it hangs over a bedside, a small table or in a cluster; at 30cm it carries a dining table for four or a kitchen island. The fitting and cable are black, and the drop is cut to length at installation.

Bulb & light quality

E27 socket, bulb not included. E27 is the European screw base; US E26 bulbs are 1 mm narrower and physically fit, but for the best contact use an E27 LED bulb rated for 120 V. For a warm, residential glow, choose a 2700K bulb.

How many do I need over a kitchen island?

How high should I hang it?

Common practice is to hang the bottom of the shade 30–36″ (76–91 cm) above a kitchen island, towards the upper end under ceilings above 9 ft, or about 30–34″ above a dining table, and to keep at least 7 ft (84″) from the floor in walkways.

What bulb does it use?

I find that it works well.

A stunning lamp, of incredible quality for no money at all. Installation is very simple, it comes properly packaged in a box. I ordered one for testing and then ordered 2 more, all arrived in excellent condition and nothing was broken. Really satisfied and highly recommend.
